Early this morning I was attacked by a 7 letter word VERTIGO. Consequently I missed the most important tournament of my life, the 25th year of the Sydney Scrabble Club but at 5.30pm a knock on my door revealed a wonderful surprise. There stood Betty Foreman, Cheryl Michler and Robin Duncan with a beautiful arrangement of flowers and a massive thank you card signed by everyone at the tourney. I was overwhelmed with this gesture and wish to thank you all for your kind thoughts. Thank you Edward for the photos especially Funny Sunny in her silver outfit. A big thank you to all who stood in for me but a special THANK YOU goes to Betty Foreman who did all the catering arrangements plus a lot of behind the scene running around. Congratulations to all the winners, I haven't stopped pouring over them. My only consolation being that I didn't lose any points. A final thank you goes to John Holgate who founded this wonderful club. The 50th Anniversary of the Sydney Club is in the planning. I will be 98 and if I forget to arrive, come and get me :)
